I've never heard of a penlight, but I'll have to look into that. I didn't know about the macro function until just recently, and this confirms my findings, so I'll be using that from now on. It makes such a difference.

Great tips on background choices, I always have issues trying to find a good setting. Neutral grays work really nice and I recently took a batch of photos on a chrome-like surface.
